Primetime--(Mdus 4377 x Earliglow) Primetime produces a very large, high quality, fancy fruit. This berry should be an attractive seller as a midsection u-pick or local shipping berry. It is resistant to the five eastern United States races of red stele and is tolerant to most of the leaf and stem diseases and fruit rots. Primetime should be well adapted to most soil types and growing systems (hill or matted row in the mid Atlantic and mid south growing areas).
Redchief--(NC 1768 x Surecrop)--Redchief is the old commercial standard variety for the commercial grower, and it is still one of the "BEST ALL AROUND" berries. Its hardiness and resistance to Red Stele makes it a consistent producer of medium to large firm fruit. Excellent variety for freezing and all commercial markets. Although it is still widely planted, it has been steadily replaced by Honeoye and Jewel for commercial planting.
