Guardian--(NC1768 x Surecrop)--This variety set the standards for the Michigan Strawberry Industry, and it is still one of their major produced varieties. Its track record for resistance to the major strawberry diseases, and its ability to produce high yields of high quality fruit, make it a safe bet for the commercial grower. This berry's unique green tip can be an asset when selling to the traditional buyer, but can also be its greatest fault.
